All on Four/All on Six

When a patient is missing all of their teeth, the only solution is a complete denture. But traditional dentures can sometimes be unpleasant for the users:

  • The can fall out at embarassing moments.
  • They can grind uncomfortably against the gum.
  • As the gum and jaw change from the lack of teeth, the denture stops fitting properly and needs to be adjusted.
  • You cannot eat the same foods with dentures as with teeth.

For a long time there was simply no alternative, but today patients with no remaining teeth have a new option: All on Four, or All on Six.

All on Four is a denture supported by dental implants. Replacing an entire row of teeth with one implant per tooth would be incredibly costly, time-consuming, and potentially damaging due to the number of surgeries required. But supporting a denture using implants means an entire arch of teeth can be replaced with as few as four or six implants.

With All on Four/All on Six, implants are carefully placed to allow the most support and functionality using the fewest implants possible. With implant-supported dentures, patients will find:

  • Their dentures no longer fall out, as they are kept in place by the implants.
  • They can eat foods they couldn’t before, as the implants provide superior support and stability to the denture.
  • Their gums are less sore, as the denture is no longer rubbing against the gum as much.
  • Their gum and jaw change shape much less, as there is now a support structure maintaining the structure of the jaw itself.
