When a patient is missing all of their teeth, the only solution is a complete denture. But traditional dentures can sometimes be unpleasant for the users:
- The can fall out at embarassing moments.
- They can grind uncomfortably against the gum.
- As the gum and jaw change from the lack of teeth, the denture stops fitting properly and needs to be adjusted.
- You cannot eat the same foods with dentures as with teeth.
For a long time there was simply no alternative, but today patients with no remaining teeth have a new option: All on Four, or All on Six.
All on Four is a denture supported by dental implants. Replacing an entire row of teeth with one implant per tooth would be incredibly costly, time-consuming, and potentially damaging due to the number of surgeries required. But supporting a denture using implants means an entire arch of teeth can be replaced with as few as four or six implants.
